Squamish Spit is a long breakwater at the mouth of Squamish River and very popular amongst kite-boarders and windsurfers.
You can drive along it with your car and stop and park at any point to get out and explore. From here you can access the trails that go through the estuary, where the river meets the sea. If you carry on to the end of the spit you will also have some great views of Stawamus Chief and Shannon Falls. Although the best views are had on a clear day, a cold, foggy day out here can be quite atmospheric.
